During the year 2017 i spent a lot of time travelling back and forth to Pittsburgh to see my Fiance. On one particular trip, after desperately looking for a place to stay (I was told there was a Steelers game and a Penguins game that weekend), I settled on an AirBnB with the title “Ideal Place.” The place was far from ideal but in an attempt to look on the brighter side of things, I spent time photographing the quirks, nuances and remnants of the previous tenants that belonged to what I now refer as Ideal Place 944. After photographing and culling through the photos, I realized that the place was very much a representation of Pittsburgh, showing the effects of the economic slump it went through, and the current overall grit and struggle of the area during a time when the city is trying to build itself back up
